Neeva Launches in Europe to Provide Internet Users with Ad-Free Tracking and Search

The Neeva search engine was launched in Europe to compete with Google, giving people honest search results without tracking, and without any ads or affiliate links.

Neeva puts users first and gives consumers control to personalize their web search experiences. By bypassing ads and advertisers, Neeva eliminates the corporate biases that have plagued the traditional search experience. Instead, Neeva’s only goal is to create a search engine that delivers the best results as quickly as possible.

Neeva provides honest results and allows users to select their news sources such as news outlets, shopping, software engineering sites, travel and others based on their personal preferences and relevance, rather what advertisers suggest, while respecting user privacy by blocking third-party tracking. and never take advantage of user data.

Neeva’s European expansion follows a successful $40m Series B funding round in 2021. Founded by Sridhar Ramaswamy (ex-SVP of Ads at Google) and Vivek Raghunathan (ex-VP of Monetization at YouTube ), Neeva is reinventing web search for good, challenging Google’s web search dominance.

Commenting on the launch of Neeva, CEO, Sridhar Ramaswamy said, “Neeva is a user-centric platform focused on private and transparent searches, as opposed to a search engine serving advertisers. The internet should be your private corner of the web instead of a deluge ads, SEO spam, and irrelevant information. We’re reinventing search by giving users control over sources; delivering accurate, transparent results and private, personalized experiences without the influence of corporate biases, followed on the web.

Neeva offers a freemium model and will first launch its basic free, private and ad-free service in Europe, then launch its premium subscription model with additional features such as a VPN and a password manager. Neeva operates its own independent search stack, returning lightning-fast results with high levels of accuracy, tapping into an index of billions of web pages. Additionally, Neeva allows users to connect personal apps such as email, Dropbox, Slack, Figma, and others, making it easier to find the most important personal documents while maintaining strict privacy controls.

“Google has dominated the search engine market, retaining over 90% market share. Neeva will challenge that supremacy by creating a better search and browsing experience that will delight users,” Ramaswamy says. added: “Users should be in control of their search and web experience rather than allowing a company to decide what information they see. The ad-supported internet has created very misaligned incentives that have enriched monopolies and big tech advertisers while exploiting users’ privacy and personal data. It’s time for a new approach to search that puts people first.”

To date, search alternatives to Big Tech have mostly offered greater privacy, but at the expense of reduced search quality. Neeva is unique in building its own independent search stack (crawling, indexing, and serving at scale) and ad-free, allowing it to design user-centric features with the sole purpose of delivering the best search results. in the most efficient way possible, all with the strong privacy that can be expected and demanded of today’s Internet experience.

Neeva is growing rapidly, gaining over 600,000 monthly users since its launch in the US in 2021. Investors include Sequoia Capital, Greylock Ventures, Inovia Capital and Neythri Futures Fund. The company has raised over $80 million from its investors.
