Snap Introduces Web Version of Snapchat, Marketing & Advertising News, ET BrandEquity App

Snap Inc announced on Monday that it is introducing the web version of its Snapchat photo messaging app, allowing users to chat, take photos and make video calls from their computers.
The company said the feature will be exclusive to Snapchat+ subscribers starting July 18 and will start with subscribers in the US, UK, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.
Snapchat for web will include features like chat reactions and chat reply, as well as lenses, which will be rolling out soon, the company added.
Snap last month launched Snapchat+, a paid version of the Snapchat app, in the United States for $3.99 per month and a few other markets, a major step away from a revenue model reliant primarily on The advertisement.
Social media companies are under pressure as companies cut advertising budgets in response to rising costs and weakening consumer spending. Snap in May said it would miss second-quarter revenue and profit targets and would have to slow hiring and cut spending.
Shares of the company have plunged nearly 71% this year.
